Energy Lab 2.0 is a project of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in cooperation with the Helmholtz Centres German Aerospace Center (DLR) and Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ).

The German Federal Ministries of Education and Research (BMBF) and Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), as well as the Ministry of Science, Research and Art Baden-Württemberg (MWK) are funding the Energy Lab 2.0 with a total of 23 million Euro, with 17.5 million Euro by the BMBF, 3 million Euro by the MWK and 2.5 million Euro by the BMWi.
